Question by : How much weight will I lose on the Paleo Diet?
I just started the Paleo Diet today. My husband and I are going 100% paleo. We also do Crossfit (yup, we’re drinking the Koolaid…). I told the nutritionist at the gym that we would try it for a month, and then reassess everything and see if after this month we want to turn it into a permanent part of our lives. Just wondering what I can expect after 30 days as far as weight loss is concerned. I am mid-20s, 5’6″, 152 lbs. No health issues other than a sprained thumb!

You will probably lose a fair amount of water weight in the first week if you previously ate moderate amount of carbs as paleo diet eating is generally very low carb.
In the long term, weight loss depends on energy balance (energy consumed vs energy expended) – paleo diet generally helps you achieve a caloric deficit without too much problems as you tend to eat lots of high protein, high fibre foods which increase satiety and should also help you retain muscle mass.
